Shari Grande, MSW, PCI Certified Parent Coach
I am a parent and I struggle right alongside you. I am thankful to have a career that allows me to continue to learn and study parenting techniques. No family is perfect, mine included, so let’s just get that out there! I am always striving to be a better parent and want to use my knowledge to help others be the best parents they can be.
Professionally, I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern California and am a graduate level certified Parent Coach from the Parent Coaching Institute (PCI)® through the Seattle Pacific University. I am passionate about Learning Differences and Special Needs. I have a ‘Ph.D.’ worth of education attained from parenting my own children, one of whom is Autistic the other has Dyslexia. As such my area of expertise originates from years of hands on experience assisting parents with children who have been diagnosed with a learning difference and/or special need. I am familiar with special needs parenting challenges, both personally and professionally. My personal journey has strengthened my passion for advocacy, and led me to channel my skills into a career supporting parents open to collaborating, so we may work for the best outcome for each child and family.
Examples of areas of focus and personally traveled paths:
- Advocating for your learning different child
- Insurance assistance
- Syncing with your spouse/family
- Resource connection behavioral issues
- Sibling issues
- Support of another parent who has “been there”
I enjoy supporting and mentoring parents of children with special needs/learning differences as they become empowered to assert, discover and apply effective life skills for themselves and their children.
